Review of Kill Switch (2008) by Patrick B — 06 Nov 2008
Stevie boy has definitely lost a step or two. I could only get through the first 20 minutes of the film before I had to shut it off and move to the next one. To put this as succinctly as possible, in what kind of martial arts movie does the star not do his own fight scenes? That's right, folks. Steven Seagal is using a stunt double IN THE FIGHT SCENES. That's just not going to cut it for fans like me. The editing of the fight scenes was horrible. They made it painfully obvious that there was a double doing the skut work.
If you are a fan of martial arts movies or of Steven Seagal, skip this one for sure. Luckily I got this one for free, so I didn't waste any money on it, but I did waste time, which is more valuable than money. But I wasn't interested enough in the plot to waste any more, which tells you something about the plot.
I got this movie to watch Seagal's fighting technique. What I got was a stunt double. This movie sucked.
My next selection will be "13 Hours in a Warehouse" directed by Dav Kaufman.
PS. One thing I forgot to mention is that there are some promising films featured in the promo section of this CD, one of which is a true samurai western highly lauded by one of my favorite directors, Quintin Tarantino. I can't wait to see that one.
