Review of Kill List (2011) by Sarah C — 28 Jan 2012

I had high hopes for this Frightfest darling of 2011 but I was sadly disappointed and glad I didn't stick around for it at the festival. I wasn't encouraged to see it at the time because it struck me it was an action/thriller rather than a proper horror, and I'm not a big fan of thrillers masquerading as horror.

I guess horror, to me, should be either comedic or fantastical ... with a few rare exceptions, such as The Woman, where the plot is plausible in real life but so chilling it's terrifying to conceive it might really happen.

So anyway, this kinda fell between the cracks for me - a hitman thriller that goes a bit Grant Morrison towards the end.
