Review of Kill List (2011) by Jee-Mei Y — 23 Jun 2012
My boss recommended it and said how great it was. I thought it was so-so. The film is too way too long to get into. It was so slow for the first 40 mins, I was very tempted to turn it off as it was just conversations and not very interesting ones.
But I stuck at it just to see what would happen, then the action and killing started, some of it quite brutal, and the mayhem towards the end. I can sort of see what the film was trying to achieve - trying to keep the audience in the dark so we would figure things out at the same time the main character would.
However it was too slow for me and didn't really keep my attention for long as I didn't really care about the characters that much. I probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone, I don't want to make them sit through the slow beginning and I don't think the ending made it worthwhile.
