Very disappointing. I'm a big fan of Tarantino's preference to dialogue and meaning over mindless action. Lengthy, wordy, intellectual conversations are really what make his films more than just well executed action, but intelligent stories with compelling characters as well.

Kill Bill Vol. 1 was just an action flick, I accept that. Kill Vill Vol. 2, however, treads this nasty water in between the mindless action and the wordy dialogue. The conversations may be slow in this film, and they may take away from the fast pace, but I would not find fault with that, were the conversations actually interesting or compelling in any way.

Apart from Bill's brief spiel about Superman, there is not a word of compelling or interesting conversation in the movie. The story of The Bride is, frankly, not all that interesting or intelligent.

Conversations about it are not either. Tarantino's really misstepped with his own formula this time, and that's unfortunate. At least his next two films are some of the greatest ever made. He clearly learned how to make great movies again.
