Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) by Hermann K — 05 Jun 2014
Very good sequel with a stronger emotional center than the first and an Oscar worthy performance from David Carradine! Not as much action in this one, but the great dialogue and interactions between characters more than make up for that.
Bills death at the end is done with more grace and honor than I expected, and by the end, I actually felt a little sympathetic towards him in spite of the terrible things he did. The scene at the church between Uma and David right before the shootout happens was my favorite.
David is mesmerizing in that scene and it makes the events that happen afterwards seem all the more tragic. Lets just say after that scene, I completely understood her motivations and reasons behind her revenge.
This movie had a very dark satirical humor to it as all of Tarrintino's films do. Aside from some cheesy jokes, this is a really great and satisfying conclusion to the Kill Bill series.
