Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) by Coop L — 05 May 2015
As QT once said, this first one is all the questions, and this one is all the anwers. The first one is a kung-fu/samurai epic, this one is a western epic. No better way to put it, and thats why the second Kill Bill is so much better.
..it has the payoff. It gives us what we've been waiting for the whole time, revenge, redemption. I also think the fights scenes are much more compelling and gritty, up-in-your-face action. Michael Madsen burying the bride, the final battle between the California Mountain Sanke and the Black Mamba, and the climactic last dual between Bill and Beatrix.
I do have to say once Daryl Hannah comes on screen in this one, all her scenes are brilliant, she's probably my favorite standout. The Pei-mei sequence is also legendary, and another borrowing of characters and themes from QT.
All in all, the Kill Bill films are perfect, and without a doubt, QT's greatest action flicks ever.
