Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) by Samantha F — 06 Jun 2018
Some say stylistic, I'd say adolescent. I'm all for action revenge thrillers with female leads and lots of gore but this feels like a teenage boy directed a movie right down to the giggling Japanese school girls.
I know I'm supposed to be sympathetic to "the bride" as an anti-hero but I could honestly care less as she's about as developed as a head of lettuce. I don't even love to hate her so even if that was the angle QT was going for (which I don't think it was) I don't bite.
