Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) by André-Claude L — 13 Feb 2016
Quentin Tarantino has once again proven he can direct anything. The films highlights come with the fight scenes and the amazing anime short (Explaining a characters background) to give it it's Eastern feel.
The fight scenes are amazing and sometimes funny. The dialogue is ok, it's not his best written film but the film does breeze through at a great pace. The cast are unbelievably great, fitting into their roles perfectly which I think lies Tarantino's talent.
Brutally bloody and thrillingly callous from first to last. Like I said, the dialogue isn't upto scratch but when it is, it's very engaging...and a brilliant teaser twist at the end for Part two.
Nice to see Tarantino try something new and succeed. The anime scene was also a great touch and a massive tribute to eastern cinema.
