Review of Kidulthood (2006) by Joe B — 15 Jun 2008
Has a lot of merit in terms of the issues it raises, but I'm not convinced it went about raising them in the right way. It's way too melodramatic and none of the characters are remotely likable- you know you're in trouble when the only sympathetic character in the film commits suicide within the first 15 minutes.
Also, after watching him play nice guy Mickey Smith in Doctor Who, I just can't take Noel Clarke seriously as a bad boy. 10/10 for effort, though.
