This coming-of-age film is definitely disturbing. The performances by the young actors are definitely one of a kind and should not be forgotten. However, as many people call this film 'realistic', I have to disagree.
Girls aren't that easy, and guys aren't always filled with rage and hate. I find this more as a 'ghetto' or 'gangster' portrayal of a rough neighbourhood.
