I didn't mind the bleakness or the doculiteration but something about the film made it difficult for me to feel like anything but a spectator. I should have felt more empathy for the Chloe Sevigny character but there was a sort of wall there.

.. unsure if it was the way it was filmed... if there was too much time spent on the environment and maybe not the character? I don't know. However, I must take exception with the way that Larry Clark has been criticized over this film.

I read all sorts of critiques calling him a pedophile and such; I find this sort of display to be destructive and hyperbolic.
