Review of Kids (2013) by Maxwell S — 22 Aug 2012
What apparently most critics aren't seeing is that this film's thought process is not that of the characters. While their attitudes are what keep the film running, no matter how annoying it might get, but the film has a way of analyzing everything in an almost completely different way than the characters.
There is a lot of evidence that the film is a lot smarter than the characters it creates. The last 25 minutes is probably the most adept part of the film. But, it needed to set it's scene, and while I'm not saying it was perfect, or even that good, but it was necessary.
It's cinematography was actually very suitable and quite skillful, which is always a big plus for me. I did find a lot of things annoying, but it was very strong in it's message, and I can't say this film didn't make more sense than it needed to.
