Review of Kidnap (2017) by Patrick L — 16 Oct 2017
Stay away!!!!! This is surely the biggest crap I've seen in the last year. Sure, there are the occasional moments of tension, but the director screws up as many scenes as possible. No victim, no matter how stupid, would mess up so often as the main character, played by Halle, does in this flick.
Each time she has the tools/weapons/chance to put an end to the kidnapping of her son, she forgets about them within 10 seconds (like not using a phone when available (again), putting away a knife and after getting her hands on a shotgun not looking for the shells, though it would take only 2 seconds with the dead guy in front of her, etc, etc, etc.
). Man, so much stupidity drives one crazy, and I was on the point of leaving in anger at least 7-8 times. Other screw ups show a damaged car suddenly in good conditions again, only to reappear smashed again in the next scene, as well as showing her cellphone without any battery power on the ground with the screen lit.
This one is only for very blind and dumb observers. 2/10 points.
