Maybe as a short it would have been okay, but it's simply just a lackluster of a movie. The plot is stretched very thin, the writing's authenticity is quite inconsistent, the characters are one-dimensional and very cliched and the "sci-fi" scenes with the astronaut don't really work in the film, it feels like it's only there for the sake of being there and to add "artistic value", which it did not.
Overall, it has an interesting enough ideas, but the plot is quite uninspired and the fact that Kicks is the directors first feature film really shows. Should have been a short-film.
