Review of Kick (2014) by Greg C — 26 Jul 2014
I am still adjusting to the Bollywood construction. Kick is not bad. For starters Salman Khan and Jaqueline Fernandez are two super attractive people. Kick is the story of a professional woman, a psychiatrist, who falls for an adventure junkie (Devi played by Khan), After a long separation, her family pushes her to marry, so we are introduced to a cop, Himanshu, played by Radeep Hooda.
Classic love triangle. It is colorful, beautiful, wonderful, awful and weak. One weakness is location, Some seem to be in India, and some in Poland. And some in London if I know my right hand drive vehicles, but clarity of location move is never well laid out.
The movie uses is 2.5 hours of length to lay out a rich-ish story. The production values are pretty good. It was generally entertaining. Khan has real potential to be a cross-over English language star.
