Review of Key Largo (1948) by Luis O — 04 Jan 2008
This is a great film by the incomparable john huston. He really knew how to make pictures. The film stars both Bogart and Robinson, two of the toughest personalities film has ever saw. Throw in cagney and you have had fireworks.
Robinson plays the gangsta keeping a small hotel hostage during a hurricane. There's melodrama and action and the end is just priceless. Bacall, Barrymore and Trevor round out a very strong ensemble cast.
