Review of Key Largo (1948) by Aaron H — 22 Dec 2012
There's so much I like about this film it's hard to put in one paragraph so i'll just mention what I like best. The dialogue is brilliant, spiky and articulated. The supporting cast is on par with the leads - more so even, as in the case of Claire Trevor as Gaye Dawn and Thomas Gomez as Curley Hoff. Meanwhile, Edward G. Robinson's Johnny Rocco is still copied today and any scene that has Lauren Bacall standing in the shadows is one hell of a sight.
All in all, another John Huston masterpiece.
