Review of Kes (1970) by Geoff P — 04 Apr 2008
Loach has a way of making films that look and feel like documenaties. From the unglamourous settings and characters, even to his use of normal people as well as seasoned actors, it's what the pigeon holes 'slice of life' or 'kitchen sink' where made for.
Tragic and not at all uplifting, but a great watch.
