Review of Kelly's Heroes (1970) by Jake F — 30 Jan 2018
The "recognized" critics on this site would not know quality cinema if it walked up and bit them in the ass, what with them giving this piece of military comedy gold a paltry 80% and a dumpster fire like "The Last Jedi" an obligatory 91%; even we, the jaded plebian masses managed to give "Kelly's Heroes" a better score than them. The star power in this film is the cream of the crop for its time, Eastwood and Sutherland only a couple players on this dream team.
Hard-bitten humor, gritty action, and deliberate pacing with proper gravitas and inertia, this film earns its stripes and is definitely worth your time.
