Ignore what the 'professional' critics say about this flick; it's great! it's funnier than heck. the story line is great, the acting is great, the authenticity of the equipment is great, the tactics used by solders (with the exception of shooting paint rounds out of tank cannons) are authentic, the attitudes of the soldiers is dead on (with the exception of oddball, who is still funny as heck even though there were no hippies in ww2), This is generally considered one of the best war movies ever by members of the army and marine corps for all the above reasons.
it is a must see!
