Review of Kelly's Heroes (1970) by Dave J — 07 Jun 2010

I'm gonna talk about one of my favorite movies ever, Kelly's Heroes. This movie is awesome. This movie is about an army unit that goes after a German bank full of gold, during World War II. The cast is amazing, Clint Eastwood, (so it's automatically good) Donald Sutherland as a screwball in charge of three sherman tanks, Telly Savalas as the tough Sergeant, and Don Rickles. These guys are great, their chemistry is amazing together and they truly make the movie what it is.

The movie's plot is pretty simple and it's not one that stirs deep thought. This movie is all about the classic action, and the awesome characters. Eastwood and Savalas work great together, Rickles is hilarious but still believable. And Sutherland what can I say about Donald Sutherland's character Oddball (yea that's his name). This character is awesome! He is hilarious without taking away anything from the action and seriousness of the movie.

And I think that's what this movie is all about, it is able to be mildly funny while giving you old school world war 2 action. The storyline is believable and keeps the action moving. This fast paced movie's action is intense and interesting. In general, this movie is great, just great, the action, the characters, even the soundtrack just creates an awesome WWII classic. I would definitely check this one out.
