It would have been better if there was some true motivation for the killers to be killers. They do it for the views, I get it, but if they showed the barbaric obsession of the mass viewers then it would be more tragic.

That's what makes Hunger Games more terrible, because the audience was obsessively invested in the games and fueled it to go on. There is no fuel in for the killer here. It wasn't really scary but it had potential.
