Review of Keane (2004) by Stacie — 06 May 2008
Disturbing from the beginning till the last second, you feel that you can't just stay and watch you have to go into it. You don't know if you have to save this girl or this man. Damian Lewis give us a tremendous performance, the ambiguity of his character, the way he is down but still falling touches you, not only because deep misery concerns us all but also because it shows our impossibility to trust people nowadays because we can't trust ourselves.
No music even for the credits, no artificial steady cam, permanent close-ups, heavy ambiance, loud breathing, thanks again to Lodge Kerrigan to being able to do this pure cinema, again.
