Review of Keane (2004) by Tristan P — 30 Jun 2008
Another low-key, character driven masterpiece from the director of CLEAN/SHAVEN. The performances are fantastic, and out of the three leads it's hard to choose who does the best. Both Amy Ryan and Abigail Breslin (a contender with Jodelle Ferland for the best current child actor) are superb, creating incredibly real characters. But Damian Lewis probably steals the show with his fascinasting portrayal of the deeply disturbed title character.
The fact that KEANE leaves many questions unanswered and moves at such a slow pace may turn off some viewers, but those who stick with it will be rewarded.
