Review of Keane (2004) by Doug B — 05 Apr 2010
This movie is worth watching, simply for Damian Lewis' performance as William Keane. He virtually carries this film on his own and does a brilliant job doing so. You find yourself sort of riveted by his constant mumbling and anxiety.
He really does portray losing his mind in a very realistic and believeable way. Damian Lewis really needs to star in more roles because he seriously impressed me in this. Abigail Breslin is great, as well, and I believe really is "one to watch.
" It's a rather slow paced film and is shot in a very gritty, low budget, indie sort of fashion. It's not for everyone and I can't even say it's a film I'd care to watch again, but it's certainly one to see once, simply for the superb acting.
