Review of Keane (2004) by Warren R — 30 Dec 2008
There was an exquisite tension maintained throughout this film. Questions left unanswered but detail for you to reach your own conclusions. Did Sophie exist? I suspect she did but his mental anguish makes it possible that he is deluded.
This was an award winning performance that probably hasn't won any. Lewis' performance had such intensity. And then the closing scene tied it up beautifully. But yet it didn't. Did he take her back?
Great film.
