Review of Keane (2004) by Pedro P — 13 Apr 2009
An emotionally harrowing film that's probably too downbeat for general audiences. But for the more adventurous viewer seeking provocative fare, it confirms that Lodge Kerrigan is a filmmaker of acute sensitivity and psychological nuance.
He's most definitely a director to watch, and Keane is a small wonder in a time of big but deadly, brainless blockbusters. A film of raw hopelessness and universality.
