Review of Kalifornia (1993) by Darlene C — 17 Dec 2008
Riveting and suspenseful, but ultimately too ridiculous. It's a bit preposterous to think that our lovely foursome would be able to jaunt around the country after all those killings with about as much attention from law enforcement agencies as the fat girl gets from the jocks in high school.
She obviously sticks out like a sore thumb from all the cheerleaders, but nobody really pays attention to her. So it goes with this movie. All these killings happening along Route 66 (or so I gathered) but with no hint of detective pursuit.
That aside, the acting was skillful. Obviously it was more a psychology study than a cops-and-robbers chase, but the whole thing was a bit far fetched. Enjoyable, nonetheless.
