Review of Kahaani (2012) by Lora R — 31 Jul 2012
Kahaani is not your usual kind of Bollywood movie.
It is about a pregnant woman who is trying to find her husband in India, but no one seems to know him there. The story is different and intriguing, because you can't predict where the movie is going. I thought I had figured it out and then came the plot twist and surprised me!
Yes, the story does have some plot holes such as why the assassin didn't just shoot the police offer instead of running away with the gun in his hand or the fact that Vidya didn't show the picture of her husband to the hotel manager while showing it to other people.
The cinematography was fantastic. They captured Kolkata beautifully.
The cast was excellent too. I loved Vidya Balan's and Parambrata Chatterjee's performance. I also loved the fact that they didn't add any song/dance scenes in this movie.
Kahaani is definitely worth watching, because it absorbs you in the world of the characters.
