Review of Kagemusha (1980) by Mark W — 10 Jan 2010
Haunting, sumptuously photographed epic with nary a false moment in character development or period detail. Dismissed by some to be Kurosawa's "rough draft" to "Ran;" the film is a triumph of film-making prowess that stands alone on its own merits.
Produced, and financially aided, by George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola--of whose work is highly influenced. Memorable final shot.
