Review of Kagemusha (1980) by Kenneth S — 22 Apr 2010
This superbly crafted epic from the inimitable Akira Kurosawa ranks as one of his absolute best. Every frame is like a painting, perfect in its construction. Every scene captivates and entertains the way a great epic should.
Kurosawa uses his common setting of feudal Japan and his common samurai to weave a tale of power and war. The result is absolutely hypnotic and stunning.
