Review of Kaboom (2010) by Alan W — 14 Jun 2011
A murder mystery. A supernatural thriller. A coming-of-age drama about exploring one's sexuality. Or a John Waters-esque comedy of sorts. It's a metaphor for.... Ultimately it is all of those things chucked into a movie blender and it is pretty and stylish to look at and which I (kinda() enjoyed but wouldnt necessarily recommend to everyone as it is certainly not to everyone's taste.
If you havent seen an Araki film before, this isnt the one to start (try Mysterious Skin) but if you have and like it, then for an Araki fim, it is probably one of his slicker, more enjoyable and coherent efforts.
