Review of Kabei: Our Mother (2008) by Scott P — 19 Dec 2010
Wholesome and appealing to the eye, this is a story that the whole family can appreciate. it may be sluggish to some viewers, but its definitely a historical event (Pearl Harbor) from the other perspective (Japan).
Diving in and out faintly into the political tensions of the time, the story here is more focused on a mother, her two daughters and a close, honorable friend of the father watching over the family during their father's/husband's imprisonment for intellectual crimes of treason against the country.
