Review of K-PAX (2001) by Cassie J — 15 Aug 2008
DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE AND YOU DO CARE ABOUT SPOILERS!
That said...if, for some reason you haven't seen K-PAX yet, i'll try to sum it up as briefly as I can.
The movie features a character named Prot. he appears out of nowhere, is declared delusional since he claims to be from another planet, and is sent to an institution. there he is seen by Dr. Mark Powell and the 2 begin trying to convince each other of their views. Powell that Prot isn't really an alien and Prot that Powell is wrong. some extraordinary things happen along the way, some in favor of Prot's story, some in favor of Powell's doubt.
In the end, what we find is that we are asked to decide for ourselves who's right. each time I see this movie, I decide that Prot is telling the truth. I know people who have decided that the opposite is true...and maybe they think I should spend some time where Robert Porter did.
For those who have decided i'm wrong I ask you to respond to 3 questions:
1) Why does he know so much about a place that no one else on earth seems to?
2) Why do things like strong alcohol or strong drugs have no effect on him? (i think this question is weak, and intend to come up with a better one...but this one will do for now).
3) Where's Bess???
