Review of K-PAX (2001) by Alex D — 20 Jun 2010
An unusual movie - still novel was much better but then they always are. Jeff bridges and Kevin Spacey are a pleasure to watch. The story hooks you right away, it teases and tantalizes throughout but it is the open ending that reduces the value of what could have been a great movie.
The ending leaves too many questions unanswered. Granted an open ending is one of the hardest tasks to carry out still here it could have been handled a lot better. Otherwise this dramatic feature is very good, perhaps the exploration of side-characters could have added more depth too it but then it still works.
Editing is good with enough slack for character development, direction dips at points but picks up at crucial junctures but looses out in the end, actors are great, music complements the story perfectly, and the production values are top-notch.
