Review of Justice League: Gods and Monsters (2015) by Kevin R — 15 Nov 2015
The past is like another planet.
In an alternate universe much like the DC universe as we know it, the super heroes that resemble Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman as we know them live similar but unique lives from our version of the heroes. They operate outside the law and government, and some like them and some do not. They are approached by a new villain that seems to be framing them for murders all around the country. The government quickly swoops in and tries to take out the heroes to bring them to justice. Can the Justice League stop the government and villains?
"Revolutions have been built on less.".
Sam Liu, director of All-Star Superman, Hulk vs., Planet Hulk, Batman: Year One, Thor: Tales of Asgard, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, delivers Justice League: Gods and Monsters. The storyline for this picture is just okay with some great action scenes and moderately interesting characters. The animation was just okay but the voices fit the characters marvelously.
"Someone out there is playing us.".
I grabbed this movie the second it came out on blu-ray as I adore these DC animated pictures. Unfortunately, this was a bit disappointing and just okay. I do think the fact it did not contain the regular DC universe did take it down a notch, even if the characters were interesting in their own way. I would only recommend this to die hard DC comics fans.
"Get out of my house!".
Grade: C+.
