Review of Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths (2010) by Benjamin F — 25 Feb 2010
I haven't seen the other Justice League movies, and never caught much of the TV series, unfortunately. But I'm familiar enough with the DC Comics mythos and Earth 2 side of things to have had to problem getting into and enjoying this movie.
The star-heavy ensemble cast does their job well, though William Baldwin is admittedly not the Kevin Conroy Batman we're used to.
The story is fun to watch as it unfolds, with numerous epic battles between Earth 2 Luthor and the Justice League we know against the Earth 2 Crime Syndicate, led by Ultraman and Owlman. The film fills its relatively short run well, and there's no shortage of fanservice for DC fans, with numerous heroes and villains getting cameos, though most of these are unfortunately dialogue-free.
Well animated, well paced, well written, and well acted, Crisis on Two Earths is pretty much everything you could want in an animated JLA alternate Earth Crisis movie. If you're a DC Comics universe fan, you definitely shouldn't miss this.
