It's another addition to the Jurassic Park / World franchise and there are more bitey bitey dinosaurs and silly humans in peril who believe they can control such powerful beings for their own nefarious ambitions. It's entertaining, has a decent tense opening sequence plus the added peril of a CGI spectacular race to the coast for dinos and friends as a volcano explodes with all the fury of mother nature, destroying everything in it's path. Plus, I liked the stronger focus this time on man's tampering with science and the dire consequences this can lead to. Michael Crichton's books always looked at the ways in which man tries to manipulate science and how it inevitably goes very very wrong and so it was good to see them return the focus to this theme for this movie.

However, there were a few issues. Firstly Toby Jones' teeth, what was going on there? Secondly the genetically engineered dinosaur smiling to himself as he tricked the silly man who wandered into his cage and thirdly the recycled scenes from Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones!

Despite this and the franchise perhaps getting a little tired, given the ending of the film, I would be interested to see a sequel because it leaves a completely new set up for next time and if they do it right, it could make for a very interesting film, especially if they say set it another 100 years down the line.
