A fun watch and decent movie overall, but a lot of it felt forced. Before we get into spoilers just know that I felt up until the end of the volcano part (with one exception) the movie was not enjoyable to watch at all, but after that I enjoyed it and was pleased by the ending.

We are now entering spoiler territory so leave if you have not seen the movie: I very much so enjoyed the opening scene with the return to the island, but after that I started to get bored fairly quickly.

It felt like a lot of the dialogue was poorly written and many characters felt forced in and like the writers tried a bit too hard to make them the comedy relief (Ex/ Franklin), when it probably would have been fine with just Chris Pratt if they tried to make him a bit more comedic, which I'm not saying they had to but I think for the most part they tried to be a bit too funny which took away from a lot of the scenes.

For instance, the lava scene with the dinosaur inside of a lab or wherever they were would have been much cooler if Franklin was not freaking out and trying to make the audience laugh. I watched a review on the movie (from Browntable on YouTube) who pointed out it did not feel like Chris Pratt's character, Owen, had any real motive in the movie, which looking back I entirely agree on that.

I think they should have focused more on his relationship and connection with Blue at the start of the movie to show he actually had a drive to go back to the island. My favorite scene was hands down as they left the island and they looked back to see the dinosaurs still there as it geniunley made me feel very bad for them and want to look away from the screen.

I thought most of the movie after this point was fairly decent at least. I think they should have made the audience more aware of what happened to Macy's parents and dove more into her as a character as it would have made the reveal she was a clone much more impactful.

I did very much enjoy the idea that she let the dinosaurs free as they were clones like her, but I felt the way she explained it was phrased awkwardly and they could have tried a little bit more to make it have more impact on the audience.

The ending set up perfectly for a sequel and I'm excited to see what they do in the 3rd film of the reboot trilogy and hoping they do not try to rush the first two acts as they did in this time and they can pick up from their flaws.
