Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Jason P — 07 Sep 2018
Not good. Just not good. The first Jurassic World was pretty epic and I really liked that movie. But they did not design it so that it was a trilogy-type movie. Of course there were common themes throughout, but it really felt more like a cash-grab sequel than an epic continuation.
But definitely the worst part was that we didn't know who to root for - people or dinosaurs. This ruined the entire movie. The dinosaurs were straight up eating people but the movie was written so that we would feel sorry for them.
It's really confusing because we don't get a solid feel for if they are mistakingly empathizing with dangerous animals or if that's really how they feel. Just confusing and stupid. The acting was pretty bad too.
And some seriously cheesy lines - like really cheesy. And new characters that acted like we somehow already knew them. It was weird. Overall, a let down. Although, since there was not much advertising, I had very lower exceptions.
This was even worse than the low exceptions. Watch it for the action and graphics though. Just don't pay for it.
