Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Dave R — 04 Jul 2018
The original Jurassic Park is an all time great. Think about what that movie did for movies in general. Bringing dinosaurs to life is what makes the film memorable. The sequels however just don't seem to hold up like the original.
Now we have Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as the second of what appears will be three Jurassic World's. I liked some things and there is plenty I didn't like. This movie is one step away from being like the Planet of the Apes reboot series.
Soon Blue the Raptor will be able to talk to Chris Pratt I think. There isn't a ton of originality in these films other then bringing the dinos to the screen. Since the first two, each sequel has featured a new, genetically altered dinosaur that wrecks havoc on things until the Raptors or T-Rex get their way.
Are all the other dinosaurs simply inferior? I guess so. Chris Pratt makes this film watchable, but much like the first Jurassic World, he doesn't get to really play with his wit. That being said, if you like the dinosaurs, go see it.
However, you basically are seeing a mash-up of Jurassic Park 1 & 2.
