Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Chimes003 — 28 Jun 2018
This is a movie meant for the theater. The high points are I the CGI and the dinosaurs themselves. There is a lot of symbolism in the movie. Much of which has to do with evolution and that we are doomed to repeat the mistakes in the past.
When the viewer watches for these it aids the slower points in the script. For instance, there is a point in the script where the protagonists emerge from the water to crawl onto a sandy beach. A clear nod to evolution.
There is also constant lightning storms during the scenes where the bad guys are meddling with the power of genetics. A clear Frankenstein reference. The dinosaurs are believable and fantastic to behold.
There is a lot of CGI in movies nowadays, but I have not seen natural movement from these creations in years. Clearly, the budget went to the guys and gals doing research, animation and animatronics.
Fun movie for the summer. A blockbuster but not an Oscar winner.
