Review of Jurassic Park (1993) by Nola(N)Brams R — 11 Jun 2015
Jurassic Park is magical, innovative and a groundbreaking movie. The only question is if Jurassic World can live up to the hype?
The greatest aspect of this movie is the practical effects. Yes they are not superb in every scene, but it made everything look real. It's the same with the CGI. Both spectacular and vague, it depends on what it is. I can say this: the modern CGI doesn't have to be better than the old. Jurassic Park is one eye popping movie! The combination with dinosaurs and the music is really something. It made the movie magical and almost touching! Most of the plot is built on teases, it wasn't until the end of the second act the action really began. The small teases of dinosaurs is awesome, made the movie great! The plot it also a bit mysterious and it does have some ethical and deep messages to carry on. It made the movie epic, more than what I expected.
The directing is flawless. The cinematography is superb, especially in the opening scene! It's the same with the actors; awesome. The only negative aspects are that the CGI is a bit vague (and the practical effects) and that it took too long for the movie to really start. But also that the ending was a bit too sudden. But it's still an awesome movie.
8/10.
