Review of Jungle 2 Jungle (1997) by Neil L — 28 Mar 2011
It's a good cast. The movie uses the physical comedy talents of Short and Allen to good advantage. Few actors are able to do slapstick comedy well. This movie is basically an extended situation comedy, but it is welldone. Allen's great comic timing and his likeability help deliver the goods in this typical Disney family comedy. While the results can't properly be called uproariously funny, they do involve scary spiders, sulky kittens and high-strung business associates, all washed down with a surprising quantity of alcohol. Love Tim Allen? Looking for a movie to see with the whole family? Then this might be the film for you. Otherwise, there's really no reason to bother. Jungle 2 Jungle is a mildly entertaining comedy about the reunion of a father and son.
VERDICT: "Matinée" - (Mixed reaction). These kinds of movies are usually movies that had some good things, but some bad things kept it from being amazing. This rating says to pay matinée prices to see at a theatre or buy an ex rental or a cheap price the DVD to own.
