Review of Junebug (2005) by Gavin M — 01 Jan 2008
An interesting capture of a little piece of time. Reminds me of meeting the in-laws. The anticipation and nervousness of it all. I felt storyline was over sensationalized and moved through some situations too quickly.
I think what happened in this weekend was too much. The interplay between characters is funny. Yes, Amy Adams (I have to mention her because everyone else did) is in it and she can act. I liked Alessandro's acting as well.
The two of them were very convincing. The movie does a great job of staying away from creating crazy ruralites and/or urbanites. Soundtrack was ok, great Hollerin' at the beginning and music by Yo La Tengo.
Not enough of it, though.
