Review of Junebug (2005) by Penelope M — 18 Feb 2008
Allthough quite slow and often very silent (started wondering if there was something wrong with my hearing), the power of this films lies in the creative use of space and sound, together with excellent acting.
Not much happens which is a brave directorial decision that might put some viewers off, especially as there is no specific conclusion/ending to this film either, but I was entirely captured nevertheless.
Loved the authentic contrasts between the attitude of a small American town in comparison to a cosmopolitan lifestyle.
