Review of Junebug (2005) by Noel K — 02 May 2009
A nice story (screenplay by Angus MacLachlan) about a visit to a small North Carolina town by newlywed, urbanites, Madeleine (Embeth Davidtz) & George (Alessandro Nivola). Madeleine discovers George's dysfunctional family and other aspects of small town life.
Phil Morrison does a great job of directing the cast and coaxing great performances by Ben McKenzie, Celia Weston & Frank Hoyt Taylor. The best acting in the movie by far is that of Amy Adams!!! She is such a versatile character actress on her way to an academy award (or two) in the future.
