Review of Junebug (2005) by Leighton T — 24 Aug 2009

I wish Amy Adams were more of a household name. Even with Enchanted, her name still somehow isn't making it out there. She shines here and brings a film out of its indie surroundings and makes it pertinent on a grander scale.

The acting is superbly calm and understated by Adams (in a supporting role). The one scene where she reveals her understanding of her husband's motives blew me away. It's not just her though, the rest of the cast is perfect within their roles and the small story with its themes of family and loyalty strike deep chords.
