Review of Junebug (2005) by Melissa B — 07 Nov 2009
A richly detailed and poignant portrait of an imperfect family trying to cope with the novelty of the presence of an outsider who has unexpectedly become part of the family. All the performances are great but Amy Adams deserves to be singled out for her sublime portrayal of the overeager pregnant wife who talks incessantly with forced cheerfulness to mask her insecurities.
