There are a lot of great bits to this movie - amy adams performance, the "outsider art with cocks", alessandro nivola's butt. all the little pieces just aren't enough to make it great overall.
the story gets a little muddled towards the end. ben mckenzie puts to use his obvious lessons from the "brad pitt school of dramatic acting." and the director wastes a lot of shots trying to give the film local color which feels pointless.
